HU Queer Press

So before you read this post, read this:
You don't necessarily need to read the whole thing, but I highly recommend that you do.

I cannot express how much I am in love with these people. How much I admire them. How much I respect them. The courage they all have is mind-boggling. I was lucky enough to be raised by an accepting family in an accepting place, and I still struggled with coming out to myself.
But all of these writers, all of these students, most of them didn't have that luxury. And they're still able to fight for what they know to be right, even when they are surrounded by people telling them that they're wrong.
I mean, can you imagine that? The strength of character it takes to overcome the voices of everyone you love telling you that you're an abomination, the resolve it takes, the self-confidence it takes just to be able to come out, not to mention whatever characteristic it is that enables you to then stand up to all these people and tell them that they're wrong?
We need more people like these students in the world.
I'm in awe. Completely, totally, utterly in awe.
