I was RIDICULOUSLY EXCITED. FINALLY THE SENATORS STARTED THE LONG PROCESS OF GETTING THE STICK OUT OF THEIR ASS. I mean, don't get me wrong, there's still a long way to go, BUT HELL FUCKING YES.
And, yeah, we still have to wait for it go into effect and I'm sure there are lots of people very unhappy and blah blah blah.
But it's progress. Congratulations, everybody. :)
The right to join the military is one of most basic rights of first class citizens. Allowing gays in the military is an excellent step in achieving equality. I can't wait to see where this leads us.
